Our History

In 2001, I made the decision to leave New York City and head to a small town in Kansas in order help out with our family business, Duis Meat Processing, Inc. I made this drastic move because my dad's health was very poor at the time. It was during that adventure that I decided it was time to give a dog a bone!

While I was getting reacquainted with and beginning to understand the meat business, the marketing wheels of my mind were cranking. I became fascinated by the popularity of one product, the gourmet dog bones. They were one of the most popular items being sold in our gourmet meat market. In fact, it was difficult to keep up with the demand for the gourmet dog bones. I met people who's dogs loved the bones so much that the dog lovers were driving for hours just to stock up on the bones. This is when the idea of Chew began!

As the idea of Chew continued to brew in my head, I began to gather feedback regarding dog’s responses to these gourmet dog treats. Time and time again, my friends would explain to me that their dogs would virtually become obsessed with their Chews. One dog owner explained to me that she came to realize that every time she hadn’t heard a peep out of her dog in a while, she would instinctually ask herself “Where is the dog?" She explained that the answer to her question inevitably became “With a Chew, of course”.

So this adventure began. After receiving such amazing feedback from coast to coast, I decided that it was in the best interest of dogs worldwide, to make it possible for their owners to easily purchase the gourmet dog bones called Chew. In turn, privileged dogs from near and far can now be entertained by Chew, the Doggy Divine Delicatessen!
